How I Made My Own Marketing Materials with My Branding

Did you know I have a whole other business besides Melody Shine Design? When I’m not doing graphic design stuff, I’m sitting at my loom, weaving goods for markets and my online shop! Rooted and Rendered has been around for a few years, and I’ve taught classes, displayed artwork, sold at markets, and even created some beautiful custom orders.

Having another business of course meant that I needed to create a brand identity for it, so I have a separate brand for Rooted. With that in mind, I knew I needed to also create marketing items with this brand. Here’s how I used my brand identity to make the print and digital items I needed in order to best represent Rooted and Rendered to my audience!

Why should you incorporate your branding into your marketing?

Easy! The whole point of investing in a strong brand identity is to be able to plug it into your marketing strategy. That means using your logo across platforms, incorporating your brand colors into your website and print materials, and staying consistent with your specific fonts.

This helps build:

  • customer loyalty

  • recognition

  • longevity

Meaning, the more you use your branding, the more recognizable you will be in the real world. People are much more likely to remember your business if they see the same logo/colors/fonts over and over on signs, flyers, postcards, social media, etc.

What are some ways you can get started using your brand identity in your marketing strategy?

Use Canva! I’m a BIG Canva fan. Sure, they use AI, but that’s no secret - they’ve used it for a while. That aside, I love how easy it is to create a simple template that you can plug your brand into, and use over and over. Plus, if you have Canva Pro, you can take advantage of their Brand Kit feature and upload all of your brand elements to plug in easily. (If you have Canva Free, it’s honestly just as easy: just upload your color palette, logo files, and fonts, and use over and over).

Here are some materials I’ve created using my Rooted and Rendered branding. You’ll notice that I don’t tend to use my brand colors much, and that’s because my products tend to be very colorful and they would clash with any colored labels or tags.

Packaging

I created a simple template for packaging I could use for my small products, and simply added one of my logo versions (ideally you would have three: a main, secondary, and mongoram/symbol) and my brand fonts. An easy way to incorporate your brand for that professional look.

Payment Sign for Markets

Selling your products in person? Make a QR code payment sign with your branding incorporated! This helps you look much more professional in-person, and helps to establish trust and loyalty.

Care Tag Inserts

If you offer textiles or handmade items, consider creating a branded care tag or care insert for your orders!

Thank You Cards

Try including a little branded ‘thank you’ card in your orders or purchases with a coupon code!

I hope this post helped you feel more confident when it comes to making marketing materials with your brand! Remember, it can be as simple as plugging in your brand’s logo and fonts to a basic Canva template. In fact, here’s a free one. Commitment to consistency is so important, and I can’t wait to hear how your brand grows.
